Creamy Bread Pudding

A bread pudding you can have your way! This creamy bread pudding is delicious and easy to make. This is a family favorite recipes and is perfect served with a big scoop of ice cream!


  • Angelic Bakehouse Hot Dog Buns
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ½ vanilla bean, split lengthwise
  • 1½ c heavy cream
  • 1½ c whole milk
  • ⅓ c granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 3-inch strip orange zest
  • ¼ c melted butter, divided
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp raw sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 300 F
  2. Tear buns into pieces and bake until dry and lightly toasted
  3. While toasting buns, heat cinnamon, vanilla, cream, milk, granulated sugar, and salt in medium pan over medium-high heat. Remove from heat once mixture starts boiling
  4. Whisk orange zest and tbsp butter into mixture, let sit for 30 minutes
  5. Remove and throw away cinnamon stick, orange zest, and vanilla bean
  6. Coat baking dish with butter
  7. Blend milk mixture, egg and egg yolks in blender. Slowly increase speed to high and blend until light and foamy, approx 30 seconds
  8. Pour over bread and toss to coat
  9. Transfer to baking dish and cover with plastic wrap. Let chill 3-12 hours
  10. Brush bread with remaining 2 tbsp butter and sprinkle raw sugar
  11. Bake at 300 f until lightly golden and puffed, approx 30-40 minutes
  12. Let cool 1 hour, then enjoy!
