Texas Pulled Pork Sandwich

This pulled pork recipe is the perfect dinner on a chilly fall night!

Ingredients

  • Angelic Bakehouse whole grain hamburger buns
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 pork shoulder roast
  • 1 c barbeque sauce
  • 1/2 c apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c chicken broth
  • 1/4 c light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Red cabbage
  • Carrot slaw

Instructions

  1. Add vegetable oil to a slow cooker
  2. Add pork, barbeque sauce, apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, brown sugar, mustard, worcestershire sauce, chili powder, onion, and garlic to slow cooker
  3. Cover slow cooker and cook on high until pork can be shred with a fork. About 5 hours
  4. Shred pork with a fork. Stir meat into liquid in the slow cooker
  5. Slice hamburger buns in half. Spread each side with butter and lightly toast on a skillet
  6. Layer hamburger buns with red cabbage, carrot slaw, and pork
  7. Serve & enjoy!
