Pesto Artichoke Grilled Cheese

Calling all grilled cheese lovers! Dreaming of a yummy grilled cheese but not sure how to switch things up? You have to try this combination ASAP … pesto, artichoke, and Havarti cheese. OH MY! Our favorite recipes are ones that are easy but bursting with flavor, and that’s exactly what you’ll get with this sandwich.

INGREDIENTS

  • Angelic Bakehouse Wheat Bread
  • 2 tbsp softened butter
  • 4 tbsp basil pesto
  • 4 slices of Havarti cheese
  • 2/3 cup of chopped artichoke hearts – can be from can or jar, drained
  • Pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Butter the outsides of bread with butter
  2. Take your spinach basil pesto and spread on insides of both bread slices
  3. Add a slice of Havarti cheese on the bottom piece of bread
  4. Layer on artichoke hearts onto that slice of Havarti cheese
  5. Top with another slice of Havarti cheese
  6. Place second piece of bread on top to create a sandwich
  7. Heat large grill pan or skillet to medium heat
  8. Add sandwich to pan – butter side down
  9. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted
  10. Be sure to flip sides!
  11. Remove from heat and season with salt to taste
