Vegan Smoky Tahini Jackfruit Sandwich

Calling all vegans! We have a must-have recipe for you to try! Smoky Tahini Jackfruit pairs perfectly with our vegan sprouted grain burger buns. From top to bottom, this sandwich is going to leave you wanting more.

Ingredients

  • Angelic Bakehouse Hamburger Buns
  • 1 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 2 tbsp vegan mayo
  • 1 tbsp dill relish
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup jackfruit pieces
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 2 cups shredded kale
  • olive oil

Instructions

  1. Stir the cabbage, mayo, dill relish, and salt together in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. Saute jackfruit over medium heat until browned in some places.
  3. Shred jackfruit.
  4. Mix the jackfruit, tahini, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and liquid smoke together in a bowl.
  5. To prepare the kale, heat the olive oil at medium-high in a pan. Add the kale and saute until wilted (2-3 minutes).
  6. Toast the buns.
  7. To assemble the sandwiches, spread your condiments of choice on the buns. Layer the sauteed kale, jackfruit and slaw on top. Enjoy right away!
